I maybe wrong but I don't think it's as straight forward as exact letter matching.
Literal translation oft happens to using mandarin - I was once told by a Chinese friend about a Euro tourist who wanted "Skinhead" tatooed across his chest in mandarin. Because of the cultural and literal differences, the guy actually had "skin of the head" tattooed......fuckin' dandruff...daft sod!
