It's ours to lose,

Spuds next 3, Arsenal, Chelsea and rags.

We will do the rags and spuds at home

It's the red dippers we need to watch

Mancini keeps his feet on the ground
Published: Saturday, 3 April 2010, 8:58PM

Robert Mancini was keeping a cool head as Manchester City became the first team to score five goals before half-time in the Premier League.

City went on to beat Burnley 6-1 at Turf Moor and move into the coveted fourth spot in the table.

Emmanuel Adebayor (two), Craig Bellamy, Carlos Tevez, Patrick Vieira and Vincent Kompany were all on target to put City on course for a Champions League spot after they took full advantage of Tottenham's defeat against Sunderland.

However, with six games remaining, Italian manager Mancini knows there could be more twists and turns in the campaign.

He said: "It is a good position to be in and an important one. But it will be more important at the end of the season.

"We have some difficult games ahead and we need to show the kind of concentration we did.

"If we do that we have a good chance as it is going to be a battle with Liverpool and Tottenham.

"We played very well, especially in the first 25 minutes, and were focused as we wanted to win the game.

"We pressed high up the pitch and had a lot of ball in and around the box which gave us some chances."

Adebayor started the ball rolling in the fourth minute and added his second on the stroke of half-time.

In between Bellamy, Tevez and Vieira, with his first for the club, also found the target.

Kompany added a sixth in the 58th minute before Fletcher got a goal back for Burnley, who are facing a swift return to the second tier following last season's promotion.

Mancini said: "It is important Emmanuel and Tevez carry on scoring until the end of the season. But if you have other players who can score as well it is a bonus.

"Emmanuel's fitness is improving after a month out and he was better than against Wigan."

Mancini was quick to distance himself from reports he could be returning to Italy with Juventus.

Told he had said 'Juventus was a special club', he responded: "Manchester City is a special club.

"I never said those things. I am manager of Manchester City and I am happy to stay here."

Burnley manager Brian Laws apologised to the supporters after seeing his side cave in.

He said: ``The game was over after the first seven minutes. The supporters and myself didn't expect that. They opened us up and killed the game.

``I apologise to the supporters for an awful display. It wasn't good enough and was unacceptable. I feel I am getting full commitment from the players but I am disappointed and feel let down.

``Everyone is in shock. It was incredible. However, I've got to pick them up as we have a massive game against Hull next week.''

You'd need to win all your games and Arsenal collect 4 out of 15 points just to be level. That's not happening.

It's not happening pal, think a few on here are just ecstatic with the Barca like first 30 mins.

Who is your team btw?

Add Arshavin to that list aswell.

The thing is, if we only target 4th then there is the possibility of under achieving. If we target 3rd and get 4th then job done.

For me its important we target 3rd and set our sights high. Everyone knows that if you target a level you will achieve slightly under that, going for 3rd could guarantee 4th spot.

in my head i say no chance of 3rd

But i would be delighted to get 3rd..............mainly because i stuck a bet with a gooner mate at 15 - 1 that City would finish above Arse. I stuck a tenner on.

That late goal goal today probably gives us no chance, but i would like him to sweat a bit before mid may !!
