Can you legitimize your job?

Lol you might know my my Nans fella Stony, he was a crane driver for 30yrs, lives on Heddy Hill

I wasn't a crane driver Ste, I drove truck mounted cherry pickers, the big fuckers. Same sort of thing but different if you know what I mean. I do know a platform(cherry picker) operator from the Summit, but not Heady Hill.

He mixes with the most loathsome characters in society but that's just his peers.

Just had an memory ignited. Gdm is in law, I'm sure I read that. So he's a manipulator extraordinaire? How many innocent men have you sent to prison? Your job is shit! :)

Nah don't know what you are, but those lawyers who knowingly send innocents to time - they must be made of some weird matter.

I'm in a team that looks after dosing chlorine into people's drinking water and dosing chemicals into the sewer to stop hydrogen sulfide production. I'm kind of a big deal.

I remember manually chlorinating my first ever fresh water tank. I couldn't remember if it was one eighth of a teaspoon or tablespoon. I ended up putting a whole tablespoon in (to be on the safe side) People running out of the showers screaming their skin was on fire and they'd gone blind. Fucking drama queens.

I knew he told lies for a living but I thought he was an estate agent.

What when the slinger fucks up.

Whatever happens the driver is always sat on his arse in the cab. The reason they can work so many hours in a day is because they spend most of it asleep in the cab waiting for other people ;-)
We did 90% of our work in the cage at the end of the boom.

I drove cranes for 3 years; never read so many books.

Used to work live line out of mini versions. Versalift, I think the were called. Can't really remember a time when they felt safe at forty five feet, let alone the heights you might have been hitting.

Me too tbh mate. Plenty of jobs were hurry up and wait. I once drove down to Pinewood studios, booked 6 hours travel time down(we got the same travel times as crane drivers) and was told to park up and wait. 12 hours later they came and said they didn't need me so I went home. Got six hours travel back too. 24 hour shift for doing fuck all.

That disgusts me.

Lucky bastard.
