Can you legitimize your job?

We all like to think we contribute positively, but really some of us a parasites... in it for the money without much consideration. Some jobs are meaningless and even prey on unfortunate circumstances. Our occupation advisers in school should be vetted properly.
 
In every walk of life there are people who are in fairly mundane(I wouldn't say worthless) jobs who are capable of so much more but who just don't want to be taken out of their comfort zones. At the end of the day if you are happy in your job regardless of what it is then you're doing all right..

You can say worthless :) it's ok. Saving actual lives is the top tier really. Can't think of anything more important/significant.

We all struggle with it mate. If you have one crew member willing to take charge it usually runs smoothly enough. Anyway the way health and safety is gone nowadays, by the time you have the ladder pitched and harness on(I presume the UK no longer use leg locks on ladders) the fire will be well out or the building will have collapsed.
 
Right, reality check, no one cares get on with it, I've had jobs that if I'd fucked up and know one above me worked out I'd fucked up you'd all be dead, a highly unlikely scenario it has to be said with the checks and balances in place (10 points if you name the film and who the lead was based on) but none of you would know, life's for walking in the park with someone you love and leaving shit behind a closed door
