Can't open System Restore

Had a problem with my pc and wanted to use System Restore but when I tried to open it, it wouldn't start. Don't get an error message - just nothing happens. It's switched on and creating restore points but just can't open the application. Anyone have any ideas?

The last time i couldn't open system restore it turned out that a virus was stoppin' me opening it ....... clean you machine with every tool you've got to be on the safe side.

Not sure if you can uninstall/reinstall system restore but that could also be worth trying too.

A windows file repair might also work ..... type sfc /scannow into the command box.

Are you using XP or Vista? If XP follow these steps:
