Not going to lie. The quality of the surrounding pubs is part of the equation for me. York Lincoln and Canterbury very good in that regard. As is Liverpool if it’s the Catholic Cathedral.

Never been there so can’t honesty comment. I have plenty of reasons to go to Bristol, though. So I’ll be sure to go there before the year is out. Guaranteed. And will check back in!

York minster is both a minster and a cathedral, what makes it a cathedral is it contains the Bishops chair making it very much technically a cathedral.

Southwell is a nice Minster. Think the Midlands definitely has its fair share of beautiful churches.

We have some cracking churches that's for sure, have to be honest I really like Manchester cathedral it's not too big and it's lovely inside and out.

Last time I went, they were making a thing of one of their gargoyles looking the spitting image of Trump, and they weren’t wrong!

Went to my only gay wedding nearby in 2023. Stayed at the big, old hotel in the middle. Where Charles I stayed. The Minster is a beautiful building. Inside and out.

Definitely one of my favourite weddings.

Yes, the Saracens. Actually not that impressive, so don’t bother staying there.

Worth a visit for a drink, because it’s so close to the Minster, but there are far nicer places to stay round there.

Felt like the kind of place that could be great with decent owners, it did have an odd vibe though.

Reminded us a lot of a few places in Stamford, just not done as well.

Not as much money round there as around Stamford, but agree, new ownership and a couple of million quid and that place could feel entirely different.

There’s a fair bit of money but it’s not as concentrated, one standout place could really do well there though.

If it was good enough, folk would travel out from Nottingham, Melton, and maybe even north Leicester.
