Because he’s our best player by a country mile, plays in a position where he can see and interacts with every other player on the pitch and understands the manager’s tactics probably better than anyone.

For me I've always liked the centre half, or centre midfielder to be captain. I hate it when strikers or goalkeepers are captain.
