you sometimes wonder, how on earth can that happen
We could do with some input from our female BMers. In the interests of balance, you understand?
When I was seventeen I borrowed my dads car to take me and my mates to a concert in Birmingham.
I turned into the slip road for a service station, there was oil on the road and was going too fast for the bend, slammed my brakes on, the wheels locked and we hit the kerb, skidded off the road, smashed into one of those ornate boulders they have dotted about, which flipped the car up which then came to rest wedged at a 45° angle against the back corner of an articulated lorry. We had to jump down when we got out of the car!
Fortunately everyone was OK minus seat belt burns, even my dad was just happy we were fine, he wasn't arsed about the car.
I didn't get get prosecuted because the artic was that sturdy it was undamaged and they couldn't find the driver anyway, plus the crash occurred on private property and the manner didn't want to get involved!
Gutted I missed the concert.
Could you post your whereabouts each day on this forum so we could take an alternative route if we need to go out on the road?
