Car Insurance

Just bought my 17 year old lad a 7 year old VW Polo. Looked to get insurance and the cheapest third party quote was almost £6,000. Mental!
will give you a ton for the car

Insurance has gone bonkers at the moment. My renewal price was double that of last year, and I have a years no claims now.

Best thing to do is just hammer the comparison sites, but I'm afraid the cheapest you could hope for will be £2000-£3000.

If you can risk him as a named driver on yours it might be worth it, but that would still be pretty pricey.

Just lie about everything, the fine is less than insurance!! Oh and if you crash your insurance will still pay everyone else out just not you

I suspect that insurance prices are high because of this attitude (unless you are just kidding). That said, I can understand, (but certainly not agree with), why young people do lie or go without altogether.

Yeah im kidding, the biggest lie i ever said was i park on the drive of my dads house when i was just off of it. Then again insurance was a bit more normal when i was 17-18 although i call £998 for the year bad enough on a car that was worth 53p

That's the sole advantage of getting old and what little hair I have left going grey! €353 fully comp on a 2009 Peugeot 308 (7 years no-claims).

Nearly all 17 yr olds don't have a car.

Now you know one of the main reasons why.

Point taken. I assumed that it was like when I was a lad, which was a long time ago. Everybody got a car at 17/18.

I feel sorry for the youth of today, how the heck are they supposed to build up a no claims bonus. As you said, they probably have to wait a few years.
