All the warning lights on our car dashboard keep coming on. For instance the low tyre pressure light is on when there is nothing wrong with the tyres. I clear it but it keeps coming back on. Also hill start assistant light is on. ABS warning light. ESP. and most of the others all come on. Any ideas what is happening ? It’s a Renault Captur. Not my choice.

More than likely a failed brake sensor that need replacing, if it's to do with braking, all the linked sensors will be activated as well.

If random errors and lights are coming on and there’s no obvious physical thing wrong, it’s probably a battery or earthing problem.

Check the voltage, and read any error codes using an OBD reader.

I had a Freelander 2 that threw up traction control faults all the time in the winter. There was nothing wrong with it, it was just the battery voltage dropping. New battery fixed it.

That, or a sensor fault somewhere. Read the codes.

If it drives fine and it’s just a sensor it likely won’t be expensive or difficult to fix.

Had a similar problem last month, dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree. Garage changed the sensor in less than half an hour, charged me £40 including the sensor.

Make sure you’ve got the correct battery for your car mate

To damned clever and complicated for their own good...took me an hour last week to put a few psi in my mini tyres then a short drive to reset the sodding computer. Completely unnecessary, it's the first time in 46 years of driving and the end result is the same I used to do in 5 minutes....
Yeah, I look at my old Mini - '64 vintage, washing line for a door handle, sliding front windows, speedometer, and that just about covered what was the interior - and I look at the 'new' stuff with a dashboard console that makes an iPhone menu 'n sub-menu look ancient. It's the new modern issue that we can do this, so yer 'aving it!

I’ve got a Qashqai and the electrics have gone bonkers. Rear view camera no longer works, says I have tyre maintenance needed even though it’s got 4 new tyres on. Got about 5 errors every time I start the ****.

I just ignore them now. If it breaks, it breaks. A total pain in the arse are cars
