Can't see any harm in having on the bench now rather than 2 goalkeepers. At least he offers something different and probably wouldn't have any fear
Didn't Spurs have to play him due to injuries? Perhaps I'm thinking of someone else.Really? Which part?
Age 17-18: Loan to Leyton Orient scoring 5 goals in 18 games (not all 90s), not bad for his age.
Age 18 - 19: Loan to Millwall scoring 7 goals in 22 games (not all 90s), still pretty good.
Age 19 - 20: Loan to Norwich, played very few games due to a massive injury stalling that seasons progress, nothing he can do here.
He was then loaned to Leicester for the other half of that season after recovering from injury, didn't do too great with 2 goals in 13, but again massive injuries to youth can stall that year very easily.
Then Tottenham pretty much stopped loaning him and at 21 became a regular.
So I don't think Kane is the example to use here to make your point.
Even if you did want to find other players, I think the idea here is about "playing the odds".
Yes there are perhaps some players who didn't have good loan spells (Kane is not one) but succeeded in spite of them anyways.
But... usually if a player is really good and earmarked to play at the top level, they make good on there chances when they play within a year or two (early years).
McAtee and Delaps loan are still kind of early, but current signs are worrying regarding "marked as a top talent for the future". Still will have a fantastic career in football no doubt, but whether it's at the top is questionable atm.
Borges has to be tested at adult level, and I think fans can be excited by the prospects in our academy... but in terms of for the future, let's see how they do against adults.
Palmer didn't need a loan, but his short substitute spells last years showed the talent against adults whereas McAtee would look lost as an example.
you're correct, but I feel like he's sort of the exception that proves the rule? Anyway, Hopefully all of these will make it here :)Harry Kane's loans were very underwhelming.
Maybe he would prefer Thursday night football like Sancho!!Not a chance he’ll be at city next season anyways, either be a season long loan or move away
