Caroline Lucas proposal to parliament

I have never read such utter rubbish and nonsense. Stupid bloody woman it beggars belief how she has reached a position where her clap trap can be heard.

I think it is intended to serve a purpose, a way to appeal to various Labour people who currently can't look past Corbyn. This gives them an alternative vision - a way to climb down from the Corbyn or nothing dogma of the Labour front bench. And I include Corbyn in that - he might struggle to admit he is a massive liability and as unlikable as BoJo in his own way. This, or something like it, would give him a convenient way to step aside and let someone else in for what would only be a short stint in any event.

I don't think this plan specifically will fly but there will be lots of chat around what form of GNU can take shape and the one clear obstacle is from the 300+ MPs who would back it, very few would want Corbyn to lead it. If Corbyn insisted that is the first condition then it becomes much more difficult, so as the pressure mounts something like this could be spun as being supportable (without looking like defeat).

Ah, Ms Lucas, the genius who suggested that the best way to deal with the recession was to massively increase company taxation, to make up the revenue shortfall.

I think if she had said a mixed cabinet, not all women, and not the ones she wrote to l, many whose political stock has sunk low this last year.

Hiedi alexander, soubry, etc also it's inclusivity was to s single group within westminster, middle aged white women which tbf when challenged she acknowledged

There was a good rationale behind the names she put forward - all have taken decisive steps in stopping brexit. Ultimately this would be a government that would form for 6 months max. It would agree a very short remit of stop no deal brexit and them move to a GE.

The alternative is that Corbyn leads a minority Labor government with backing of some tory rebels but that is much harder to swallow for tories and others. The danger is that it doesn't get of the ground. Putting a cross party group together makes it easier for the 50 or so potential Tory rebels to make the leap.

Alongside her other proposal to make all new cars out of wool.

She's an absolute fruit loop.

I like Caroline a lot and she speaks a lot of sense, but on this instance she is wrong. If this had been a male MP saying I want an all male government could you imagine the shit fit that she would have over it. Maybe she was looking for the headline but she might have been better to think this through before saying it.

Agreed. It also will not and should not happen so it’s all a bit moot.

The rationale was flawed though, a national government of unity cannot be just everyone who agrees with you to reamin, as that is as non unifying as the present hard brexit tory one.

The ideas is initially good as there are some who won't back a corbyn led one, so an out of the box idea was needed, just not this one.
