CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Notice how every commentator on the TV and radio is not pleased with the result. All trying to stretch it the "we're guilty but poor old UEFA not able to prove it" and "they are rich and can afford good lawyers" as a serious negative in the result. Not once did anyone actually look at the legal side of this. It's all been the feeling they had of hoping another club can take our place in the Champions league next year.

With Modern journalism truth, and facts are minor inconveniences.

Not just with Sports.

All of it,politics is even worse.

It's a structural issue, really. Science writers, investigative journalism, and anything that requires training, expertise and time doesn't play well in news rooms. Sports journalism can be done for cheap, and you can generate a lot of comments and interaction by stoking tribalism, and for the most part sports journalists have to make their money where they can, including in the fan podcasts. And fair play to them. But this case needed time, attention and expertise, and definitely didn't need stoking. But very simply there are a lot of journalists with eggs on their faces because, put simply, they didn't and don't understand the case.
