Our cat came home the other day with an injured front leg. The vet sent him to the animal hospital. The xray puzzled them: his 'elbow' had apparently exploded. Off to specialist orthopaedic surgeon. Hmmm....Not normal. Full body scan revealed lesions throughout his body. The conclusion was that a tumour had grown inside the joint and exploded it from within.
Treatment was amputation of the leg and further investigation of the lesions by a cat oncologist. We await his three legged return on Friday. Poor old pussy. Meanwhile vets fees are racking up. Estimate is £7k. Petplan will cover £5k. Geez, he's just a cat!
Any hints on looking after a three legged cancerous cat??
