this was the player i thought would of been done and dusted after last years rvp fiasco im gutted we aint getting this guy as i think he would be the difference.i aint buying all this dzeko will come good shit it wont happen and theres to many on here trying to convince themselves dzeko will turn into a great striker.he has no pace and no touch and doesnt suit our game.we will still play silva toure fernandhino in midfield so we will still play alot of our game similar to the last 2 seasons.imo we wont better last years 2nd place if we go into the season with augero guidetti dzeko and negredo it just wont be good enough imo

I fear your prediction on next season will be fairly accurate.
i hope im wrong mate i really do carlos tevez will be a bigger loss than some think cavani would of made up for his departure

We beat Chelsea to win the Community Shield. Oh, and we finished higher in our (superior) league than you did in yours and went further in our FA Cup than you did in yours, despite the fact that your lot get a bye to the last 16. So, all in all, I'd say City had a better season than 'Meelan'.

why'd you leave out champions league, if you're going to talk about going "farther" in comps?

Because you specifically asked how much more City had won than AC Milan with the clear suggestion that we had done no better or, more likely, worse than them.

And if you really want to talk about the Champions League it may have escaped your notice that City were - once again - in the group of death and the two teams that qualified from the group progressed to play each other again in the semi final - which of course means that one made it to the final.

On the other hand AC Milan scraped through a much easier group with the lowest points total of any of the last 16 qualifiers, finishing behind, er, Malaga. Then you got dumped out by Barcelona so you didn't get too much further than City.

Enjoy your qualifier in next season's competition. After all it would be unthinkable for the great AC Milan not to make it to the group stage.

Another set of has beens living off their 'istree

I think we have to get used to a phrase I hate, dons tin hat - value in the market.

A shame if true because as I'm sure our Barca boys can appreciate, we really aren't there yet. Everything, absolutely everything, is reliant on the first team being successful. We can wax lyrical all day about 'holistic', promoting youth, the academy, huge commercial deals, the best website in 4 billion languages, everything boils down to the same, the first team winning football matches. We don't have our name to fall back on yet, we still need to build it. Seems odd to those of us to whom City may as well be the only football club in the land and all the world, but unfortunately it isn't to everyone.

I disagree. We are owned by someone who has the means to keep our squad up in the top 20 or so in the world. Providing that he is not going to walk if we don't consistently succeed then why the stress on winning in the short term and at any price. If he is willing to take the long road (the holistic one) then fine by me. I want us to win every game next year and I'll be sick when we lose but I will enjoy us just being in with a shot.

Lets not lose sight of just enjoying the ride. ;-) We are City. The best team in the land and all the world, even when we are shite!

Whilst I see where you are coming from and would have no issue with such an approach it contradicts absolutely everything we have heard from the chairman so far - when he had a wry smile when asked about our current summer dealings, I'm sure he had a marquee name in mind (Bale, Cavani etc). I think it's more likely we are struggling to meet our transfer objectives than fully embracing a holistic approach....Barca also have a holistic approach but they spent 50m on Neymar.

I think it's fair if the chairman is disappointed that a key deal didn't come to fruition. It's his job to worry about those things. I just don't see why us fans need worry. Unless the worry is that due to failure to win titles/cups will result in our benefactors selling up. I don't think they will even if we come 5th for the next 5 years which in my mind is very unlikely. As I say enjoy the ride - next season is going to be tougher than ever. I can't wait for it to start.

Ps. I hope we get a LW - we need an option off the bench who can get behind a stubborn defence.

Paris St-Germain have confirmed the signing of Uruguayan striker Edison Cavani who had been coveted by Chelsea. [La Paris)

Thank fuck for that - going to be funny as fuck when PSG get assesed - there is no way that UEFA can let the situation go unchallenged

If PSG pass it will be an end to the FFFP is they do fucl all the ex G14 clubs whom pushed this shit will be up in arms and threatening a breakaway league.
