My mates Mum and Dad actually met on CB and were married for years until the husband died last year.

Royston Vasey?

Well the nickname us kids gave her was Jelly Baby so I'll let you fill in the blanks.

I used to enjoy it. All sounds fairly ridiculous since the internet and mobile phones completely changed communication but at the time it was a good laugh. My handle was Vanguard due to the brand of cigarettes I smoked at that particular time.

I was rummaging about the loft just before Christmas and discovered my old Uniden. I had many a laugh and had a fair few eyeballs with a number of interesting characters back in the day.

"Side"

"Side in"

"Who is on?"

"Who is asking?"

Good times.

South Manchester/Wythenshawe used to be swarming with CB users.

Martini man
Pegasus Paul
Fat Freddy
Blue Dolphin
Smelly Keith
Streetfighter

to name a few.
