£40 for a semi final against Liverpool? I know the prices of tickets are stupid these days but that isnt going to change and In comparison to normal league tickets etc this is the norm

I see it as the opposite. Loads will be bought tickets as their presents.

And you overestimate how much £40 is for a semi for most people.

There are 2 matches though. £40 and having to leave at half time in the reserve team cup is a bit daft.
Not everyone can do home and away can they (in fact only 6,000 can).

You still watch 90 minutes of football.

I really can't believe anyone thought it would be any cheaper. We managed to sell out a dead rubber Vs Bayern for a similar price. his will have much more interest, a semi and Vs Liverpool. We have many more match going fans this season than 2 years ago when we sold out Vs the rags.

We play Liverpool a week before, MU 3 days before, and have too many fixtures in Jan. We have more cup schemers too, but it doesn't make it right even if it does sell out? Why should we pay top whack for a cup that our best 11 won't play in?

They should have had discounts for cup scheme members at least. We let other clubs do that.

I take it theres no chance of me getting a ticket for the away leg if im not on the carling cup scheme even though ive got 6500 points?

More than likely not
I'd be surprised if there are 6000 on the cup scheme, who want to go to Liverpool, for a night game, at that price, in January, just after christmas/new year.

There was close to that much last year, much more this year it seems.

I read on here 13,000,but make of that what you will

Will also be giving this one a miss. It’s the Carling Cup, midweek, on TV, and chances are neither side will be playing the full first team. It’s not that I can’t afford it, but to be honest I’d rather spend that sort of money on something else. I already felt ripped off when Bayern put their 3rd team out the other day.

I think £20 - £25 would have been a more acceptable price. If even Arsenal can charge £10 for a quarter final, then a 300% price hike for a semi is not really justified, especially as the main support for both clubs is from a working class background. I unfortunately think that this will be a taste of things to come as FFP kicks in and we get more successful. The game will be a sell out anyway as there will be enough tourists and day trippers out there to snap up any unsold tickets.

I think the main problem is that they are taking the money a week or so before Christmas, if this was any other time of the year i don't think we would be as pissed off.

Don't get me wrong i don't want to pay £40 for this ticket or £45 for the away leg. But a semi final against Liverpool - Nature of the beast unfortunately.

big time Charlies saying they're worth every penny need to sling it, that attitude allows the club to take the piss. I can only afford 1 out of the 2 between the semi and the derby so it's going to be the derby me thinks. I'm sure the Cheshire brigade can afford it though (go sit in The Family Stand and you'll see what I mean.)
Well the derbvy is £15 so I'm sure you can comrade.

Ps- I think you may well be stuck in the 80's if you think someone a big time charlie for saying £40 for a semi is ok. (which is cheaper than a league game)

If it was a Champions league semi final then I wouldn't be able to argue but £40 for the Mickey Mouse Cup? It's not just City, it's every other club in England that are pricing out the working class. If you were on minimun wage it's a quarter of your wage to go and watch a football match, it's not right.

Oh I'm sure there are well over 6000 on the scheme, that wasn't what I was saying. Add to that, Liverpool, night game, price, time of year, and I'll still be surprised if 6000 on the scheme want to go, most will have joined to get a final ticket should we get there. In fact I think we may struggle to sell out at all, we'll see.

We only got 2100 for Sunderland away, and they are still on sale today, the last day that was given for ticket sales initially (and they're much cheaper).

The sales criteria reflected the allocation available for Sunderland and there is no public transport. Over the past 6 years we usually take less than 2k there anyway.

Plenty in the cup scheme won't go but some will sell on. I'm sure you are right about it going outside the cup scheme members though, given the double cost. We did not always sell Liverpool out, here were often restricted view ones left right up to the day.
