Probably discussed before on BM but anyway - Would you prefer to be a Celebrity (instantly recognisable) or just as you are now (if you're not famous)

For me as a child I had dreams about being a celebrity. Wanting to be the next star footballer for city and all the usual crap kids are brainwashed to believe in.

But as an adult now I'm left thinking being a Celebrity is my worst nightmare.
Imagine just nipping out to your local late night shop for some Milk in your scruffs and being recognised.
Constantly being harassed/stalked on Twitter, with thousands of websites posting stories about you.
You decide to go out for a drink with a mate and the next day there's a picture of you on the front page of a newspaper saying:
XXXX XXXX in late night drink binge shocker!

Shag a girl and the next day it's all over the media that your a dirty bastard.

Not for me. I value my anonymous status.

I have never valued "celebrity" and personally find it disgusting. No i do find that word disgusting i really do.

It is a word we accept but nobody really questions, what is a celeb? to me a celeb is a person who just happened to be lucky or a total wanker.
This gained them a tv show most likely and or regular spots on a quiz show. Some deserve light "fame" but the word celebrity is specific for me.
It means some **** famous for no reason at all beyond tv execs being their mates dad/dads mate. That thick **** for example, i forget his name, something to do with Essex.
I know plenty of people that would give the same comedic value, why him? i don't like his shows and neither i am told does the missus.
That is the fella "educating joey essex" who fucking cares what the flying fuck this no mark has to say about anything really ?

Fuck celebrity and the society that holds it as a worth while healthy value... seemingly.

Note: i am actually relaxed, religion and celebrity really grind my gears though.
Beckham is a perfect example, an average player who has the "celebrity" sticker on his arsehole. No other ex players of his level are barely remembered.
I admit he is now well on his way to being a non entity which is good imo.

I'd hate it, being splashed all over the press everytime you slipped up, enormous pressure to always look your best having to spend most of your days at the gym or the salon or in theatre having plastic surgery no chance. Would rather be them lucky feckers that just won the lottery for the second time!!!!

I would love it. I'd be a right cock. To the point where your such a dick people love you for being one.
Like when Charlie sheen went nuts. I never liked him as much as when he was drinking tiger blood and #winning.
I'd be a messed up mixture of Lindsay lohan, Charlie sheen, Mario balotelli and Dean gafney. :)

Some are idolized and I just don't get that. Even more baffling is the asking for/signing of autographs. I wouldn't mind being famous exclusively to people who didn't give a shit about me. Sort of like now really :) suits me just fine.

Autographs can be investments.

I have a signed photograph of Fish which in 30 years time will be worth at least 66p.

My kids are fighting over it already.

Does being a "celebrity poster" count?

How much is your autograph worth?

Particularly if it is attached to a cheque?
