Centre back options

Pep is not dumping stones for VVD. That's the partnership he foresees, with Vinny
And VVD probably wants to be more assured he will start most games.

Liverpool can offer that and for £60m we also balked.

However if Pep goes wth 3 at the back and we can see how that could work last game against Spurs. I think it was the price more so tbh.

There are loads of moments like this in City's history, when you can plainly see we are about to get it totally wrong, but assume the powers that be must know something you don't, & plenty of fans are happy, so you think, 'ok perhaps I'm wrong' then it turns out, nope you were right in the first place.

Luckily, wheras in the past it usually ended in disaster, now, the squad is so fucking good it's just a matter of whether we don't quite get away with it or do & everything is fixable.

Still, this is so obvious it beggars belief some folks can't see it imo.

Shockingly obvious really but like you said our squad is so good now we will probably get away with not getting him buts it's a shame. I will be really upset if he goes to Pool and we end buying an inferior CB next summer (could easily see it happening).

He played as DM, CM , RB , LB why can't he play as CB ?

I am not saying he will be better than Kompany, but as a 4th choice, he can cover.
I think Fernandinho has too strong a penchant for tripping people to be a regular centre back.

I'm not saying he can't, just that I wouldn't advocate what you're suggesting without some sort of evidence to base it on.
