Sorry if someone has already said but if we pick Benatia up in Jan he wont be able to play till middle of Feb with him going to AFCON

I thought these competitions had been moved in line with Euros and all other competitions that is why they had two back to back. Or have I got that wrong.

AFCON is in Morocco Jan - Feb 2015. They moved to avoid clashing with WC years.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

If reports on here are to be believed.

Keeper - Kieran Westwood - Free
Right Back - Sagna - Free
Defensive Midfield - Fernando - 12m
Centre Midfield - Fabregas 30m

Means we still have 9m left to sign a centre back without selling anyone. Maybe with the stupid numbers being quoted for Mangala and Benatia we have already moved on to plan C.

Fabregas will not be prioritized over a central defender, now way in my opinion.

I think Benatia is our target and Fabregas will only come in if Yaya is definitely off or if we can get funds from players sales, Milner could be off to get first team football and Simeone might want The Beast to join him to replace Costa.

Ahead of the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations several European clubs called for a rethink of the tournament's schedule. As it takes place during the European season, players who are involved miss several matches for their clubs.[9]

In January 2008, FIFA president Sepp Blatter announced that he wanted the tournament to be held in either June or July by 2016, to fit in the international calendar, although this would preclude many countries in central and west Africa from hosting the competition (as these months occur during their wet season).[10]

In May 2010, it was announced that the tournament would be moved to odd-numbered years from 2013. This means the tournament will not take place in the same year as the World Cup after 2013. It also meant there were two tournaments within twelve months in January 2012[

I remember hearing the same, but there's nothing on Wikipedia saying anything about June/July.
Yeah I thought the same but a lot of people have been saying it, I'm probably wrong sorry ahah

So if we say £8 million for Micah, £10 Million for Garcia and £2 Million for Sinclair we are looking at £29 Million for Benatia. That's pretty realistic

And potential sales of Rodwell and Guidetti and if we really want to we could offload Milner. But the easy option is sell Yaya for 30m.
