Re: Cesc Fabregas

It doesn't fit in with what Mourinho wants, he is pissing about with Fabregas in order to spike our plans according to some on here. Whether that be the truth or not I suspect this saga is going to last until after the world cup.

More likely is that he's pissing about, dragging his heels, trying to scupper the deal as he doesn't want him, but Abramovich is trying to force him on him. Some on here seem to think everything somehow links to us and is part of an evil conspiracy to derail us, I'm just not sure that's true

Re: Cesc Fabregas

If Chelsea sign Cesc, Costa and Luis think they will line up
Courtois
Azpilicueta, Cahill, Ivanovic, Luis
Matic, Ramires
William, Cesc, Hazzard
Costa

Oscar is a great talent but Cesc would be better defensively and has more killer passes in him in my opinion.

Has Terry been abducted by aliens?

I think Chelsea will win the league next year - though I said that this time last year too.

If they had a striker last year, they would have won it. If they sign costa, that is likely to solve that problem and fabregas can only make you stronger. Maybe they need another centre half to compete with terry and cahill but they have a very strong squad.

Bollocks, mate.

Our 2014/14 haul was 86 points, despite getting none off Chelsea. No way they'll do the double over us next time.

We aren't standing still either. Fernando (if if happens) sounds like a clever move. He and Sagna (if it happens) are unlikely to be our only additions.

Yes, they'll be our biggest threat but that doesn't make them good enough.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Sure, Chelsea are strengthening very well.

But what about the Champions of England
+ a world class centre-back
+ a world class defensive midfielder
+ a high quality right-back
+ (we hope and pray) key players like Aguero/Silva/VK and emerging players like Jovetic/Nastasic not missing huge spells of the season (of course there will be injuries but last year was freakish, only Arsenal were worse off)
+ a manager who will have learned many things after a dodgy settling in period where we dropped points to much of the bottom half away?

Don't write us off. Even with Chelsea's improvements, if we just land that one centre-back and the third top drawer CM (Fernando) we we'll still be favourites IMO.

well you know people tend to overestimate signing players doesn't guaranty anything

but for sure they might be more for it especially for team that didn't win anything last year

As for mourinho the same formula close games 1 or 2 goals but standard of the league changed since last time he won it so i think he might be obliged to play more possession and attractive football which is quiet the opposite of his style of playing and the players at chelsea right now ( most )

Re: Cesc Fabregas

Jovetic will be like a new signing, Negredo will have had a year to adjust to prem life. Demichelis now knows what he has to do in this league as well. Rodwell he has what it takes if he can be injury free. Sagna will strengthen us at right back even further. Fernando will stiffen up midfield allowing our more talented players to get forward more. We already top scored on goals. If as I hope we take 3 points of Chelsea this season, it means the actual gap last season would have been 10 points and a better goal difference meaning 11 points. That is a hell of a gap to make up using Mourinho's negative play even if he does strengthen his team.

Not saying we will run away with the league far from it but to say Chelsea will walk it I think is also a bit fancifull.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

I think we will have a very strong team and if we get Sagna it will weaken a direct rival and strengthen us which for a free is a cracking bit of business, Fernando will be a great signing and will allow us to rest and rotate our CM's and makes a 5 man midfield more of an option on trick away games in Europe. Im thinking about Yaya's future and if does want to leave and we lose Cesc to Chelsea, I cant think of anyone else to replace Yaya we will be losing Yaya to the ACON anyway this season and is getting older I think now could be the time to pull the trigger instead of in a season or two where I doubt a player of Cesc ability will be available for 30mil. Every year we seem to be chase CB's who are hugely overpriced (Agger, Pepe and now Mangala and Benatia) give me Garay for 15mil any day lower fee lower pressure lower expectations which will allow him to relax and enjoy his football.

D'you support Chelsea ? It's just that in the last 12 months it seems all you do is talk about how amazing they are, Mourinho is, and how far behind we are. Becoming a bit predictable.

Either I support Chelsea or I rate Mourinho much more highly than is the consensus on here, I believe Chelsea to be THE major domestic threat, and I actually believe that Fabregas and Costa would be immense signings for them.

Who cares who THE major domestic threat is. Whether it's Chelsea, Liverpool, or Arsenal they're all good teams. However the season just gone proved that ours was better. In fact, as it turns out Liverpool were better than Chelsea too. So for all your prognostications about how Mourinho was THE domestic threat last season turns out he wasn't.

Personally I think Mourinho's lost a little bit of his lustre in the last two or three years. Become far too influenced by Mendes and has made far too many decisions regarding players which are based not on footballing reasons but based on how much of a % him and Mendes will make out of a deal. That's a recipe for disaster.

If they sign Fabregas and Costa IMO they will be only marginally better than last season. Costa isn't the world beater people make him out to be. He'll do a job for Chelsea but will he do more of a job than say Lukaku would have done? No chance. Is he in the same league as Aguero? No chance. He might, might I repeat, have the impact at Chelsea that Dzeko has had at City, but ultimately there's a prime example of a Mendes deal rather than a footballing one.

Fabregas is even less important because Mourinho's system is incredibly predictable. His midfield next season will be Matic, Ramires + one of Oscar, Van Ginkel, or Fabregas if they sign him. In the immortal words of someone somewhere "do I look bovvered?".

Chelsea will finish further behind us in the upcoming season than they did last season. Mourinho will then be fired.
If Real Madrid get Ramires then that'll hurt them more than adding Fabregas will strengthen them. Costa could be a ticking time bomb for them.

Re: Cesc Fabregas

To say there is "no chance" Costa will do what Lukaku has done is a bit risky isnt it. There is nothing to say that Costa doesnt replicate exactly what he has done in La Liga, lest we forget he is the stereotypical Mourinho striker. Big, strong and can finish. Him and Fabregas so far is great business and some of the posts on here still claiming we will beat them to the title with ease is a bit arrogant

Talkshite were reporting that Fabregas had signed for Chelsea about two days ago, but that appears not to be the case. Let's wait until that happens before calling it "great business."

Whether he signs for us or not, I honestly don't remember you posting anything confident about our club when it comes to transfer business.

Now im not going to go as far as calling you out as a R** but I will suggest you stay away from the transfer forums as you offer fuck all to be honest fella.

If you also take into consideration our poor start to the season (away form) while Manuel tried to get to grips with the PL.We would have pissed the league, and been miles ahead of Chelsea.

Costa and Fibreglass are not going to change that, especially when you consider we will also improve on certain positions.
I believe we will keep one step ahead of them transfer wise again this season.
