D'you support Chelsea ? It's just that in the last 12 months it seems all you do is talk about how amazing they are, Mourinho is, and how far behind we are. Becoming a bit predictable.
Either I support Chelsea or I rate Mourinho much more highly than is the consensus on here, I believe Chelsea to be THE major domestic threat, and I actually believe that Fabregas and Costa would be immense signings for them.
Who cares who THE major domestic threat is. Whether it's Chelsea, Liverpool, or Arsenal they're all good teams. However the season just gone proved that ours was better. In fact, as it turns out Liverpool were better than Chelsea too. So for all your prognostications about how Mourinho was THE domestic threat last season turns out he wasn't.
Personally I think Mourinho's lost a little bit of his lustre in the last two or three years. Become far too influenced by Mendes and has made far too many decisions regarding players which are based not on footballing reasons but based on how much of a % him and Mendes will make out of a deal. That's a recipe for disaster.
If they sign Fabregas and Costa IMO they will be only marginally better than last season. Costa isn't the world beater people make him out to be. He'll do a job for Chelsea but will he do more of a job than say Lukaku would have done? No chance. Is he in the same league as Aguero? No chance. He might, might I repeat, have the impact at Chelsea that Dzeko has had at City, but ultimately there's a prime example of a Mendes deal rather than a footballing one.
Fabregas is even less important because Mourinho's system is incredibly predictable. His midfield next season will be Matic, Ramires + one of Oscar, Van Ginkel, or Fabregas if they sign him. In the immortal words of someone somewhere "do I look bovvered?".
Chelsea will finish further behind us in the upcoming season than they did last season. Mourinho will then be fired.
