Cesc Fabregas signs for Chelsea (page 190)

It's no problem. We have to expect the top teams to buy a top player every now and then. Just imagine how they felt when we were buying Aguero, Yaya and Silva. That must have hurt more! Chill out and enjoy the ride. No matter who our rivals buy, we will have as good a chance as anyone of winning the league this coming season.

I can't understand why some people are so disappointed. We didn't need him, and it would have been foolish to spend £30M on a player we don't need, especially with the limited budget we have this year and next.
Slightly disappointed he's gone to a rival but I'm not sure he's a Mourhino buy. I sense the relentlessly fidgety and constantly interfering fingers of Abramovich in this.

Let's not forget that Fabregas is a poisonous little fucking weasel. He's had more than enough to say about City over the years, with plenty jibes about mercenaries. He's just proved he's the biggest one of the lot.

If Mourinho doesn't win the title next season or if he gets off to a bad start, Abramovich will be pulling the trigger again.

If we get our targets, we are still the team to beat.

Just posted this on their official twitter account. Trying to still the opening day thunder, I see.

He will be forgotten as soon as City announce some transfer news of our own - people are desperate for anything, anyone even if they don't fit. Take a deep breath and have a look down our existing midfield list - and a potential incoming Fernando....and breathe out.....there, feel better?

I think people need to realise we support a team that were just short of winning the domestic treble last year

With Fernando, sagna and a decent CB, along with Jovetic & Aguero injury free...we will still be the best team in the premiership

Do like Fabregas as a player, but I didn't think he'd come back to England and play for Arsenals direct rivals. The good news from this is that people are going to start labelling Chelsea as favourites and pressure will lift off of our players. Not the end of the world by any means, we just need to get our centre back business sorted and we'll be fine.

One less thread to worry about:-) They are not very happy on Red Caf thats for sure.

It's slowly sinking in no fucker wants to play for them. They've been trying to sign a top midfielder for years and it's just rejection after rejection. Loving it.

We're going to be hard-pushed to beat them to the title next season.
Ppl said that last year too....

I'll tell you why I'm disappointed. Fabregas is one of a small group of players who have both the ability and the pedigree to play for our team. He's a much better player than both Rodwell and Garcia. He's versatile enough that he can play any of the attacking midfield positions as well as central midfield ones. He has had the right footballing education for where our team is at and where it's going.

Notwithstanding all of that ... now he's gone to Chelsea fuck him we move on and for me we're still favourites to win the league next season and whether or not his move to Chelsea works out only time will tell.

No way Maureen sets up like that against us...too few defenders :)

There should be a black edging to Sad Cafe now with Fibreglass and Muller off the agenda for them.
Still, they think that the Pig Poker can be their's for 20m.

I tell you what this confirms...birthday boy will definitely still be with us next season

Exactly, hence we have no requirement for Fabregas.

As others are saying,we get Benatia,or an equal, and we're laughing.

The media were all predicting Chelsea last year - the majority of pundits went for them to win the league. The reality is despite all the hype Maureen won nothing, played conservative football that got more conservative as the year wore on and they ended up third. Cesc is a good player but Maureen won't get the best out of him - he will improve the defensive side of his game but he won't be allowed a free role. Didn't see much of him at Barca but he can't have been world class week in week out or I doubt he would have been so unceremoniously shown the door.

look at the united team that won the title all those points ahead of us compared to our title winning squad then look where they finished last season.

teams on paper mean nothing.

if we score around 100 goals again and try and conceed under 30 goals, chelsea will find it hard to topple us.

Imagine if City announced Sagna tonight. Arsenal fans would be lining up to jump off bridges. :-)

(If it is like for like I am still more confident in our team rather than Chelsea)
