Champions League 2018/2019 (Shaktar Donetsk, Lyon, Hoffenheim)

Have a good friend, a Greek guy who lives in Tolo, near Nafplio, and is a big AEK fan. So pleased they beat Celtic. Hope they get through the final qualifying stage and we draw them in Pot 4.

New UEFA Champions League format explained
  • The 26 teams given direct entry to the group stage under the new competition system will be joined by the six winners of the play-off ties played on 21/22 and 28/29 August.
  • The teams will be split into four seeding pots. Pot 1 consists of the holders, the UEFA Europa League winners and the champions of the six highest-ranked nations.
  • Pots 2 to 4 are determined by the club coefficient rankings.
  • No team can play a club from their own association, with the exact draw procedure to be confirmed before the ceremony.
  • The draw also establishes the groups for the UEFA Champions League path of the UEFA Youth League.

Hopefully not Russia.

Wouldn’t mind another Italian trip, or a trip to Portugal for once.

Would definitely go back to Naples again. Decrepid stadium, but a wonderful atmosphere, and a great view.

The only negative about the trip was the bus journey to and from the stadium, and being held inside the stadium for over an hour after the match was over.

The Police were great, considering they have a poor reputation.

PS. Always wanted to go to Valencia, so that would be nice. Might even make a Week of it.
