You could be right, but I think you're not taking into account that UEFA is not a person, it's a governing body that can function in both self-preserving and self-destructing mode, depending on its officials' private interests. So it's not beyond realms of possibility that G4 can somehow send UEFA on a suicide mission to harm their competitors and self-annihilate, giving birth to a new elite competition on Cartel's terms.
I am not failing to take that in to account, mate.
In the event that legal proceedings are initiated, it is very likely they would not be limited to merely a legal challenge to FFP, as the club would now be fairly certain that UEFA (and related cartels’) intervention is not going to stop until either we or they are put down.
This means individuals at UEFA and other organisations will be put under significant scrutiny, both by the case and likely separately by City (and cohorts). Hyopcrisy, dalliance, malfeasance, corruption, and illegality, however tenuous in relation, will be exposed with haste. It would not be shocking to see a scorched earth approach if the club really feel this is the hill they must die on (i.e. the harassment and suppression will not stop unless drastic action is taken). This extends out in to a very inconvenient swath of officials and sycophants of UEFA, including member club administrations, many of whom are part of the current cartel.
Of course, we can’t rule out a power play of sorts to reshape UEFA in to an organisation benefiting a different composition of clubs. But that is as likely to be initiated by us as anyone else at this point.
And, as I said in my earlier post, creating the conditions for any of this to happen is a very big risk for all involved on UEFA’s side — the probability that the outcome is favourable to UEFA, the current cartel, and some significant interested business entities is not particularly high. If anything, the most likely scenario would be City, UEFA, and quite a few very prominent club management teams all going down in a mighty blaze, which makes this a cutting off your nose situation in many ways.
