All the club have responded at the moment is that it’s an obvious attempt to slur the name of the club. Very clever to keep very quiet and make small legal statements when needed at this stag. No way are we going to go public with this like other clubs would

I don't share your faith in justice and the power of evidence. Etihad can swear until they are blue in the face that they are fully liable for their sponsorship, it does not matter. City are stinking rich, they are not Utd nor Liverpool and they are owned by an Arab Sheikh and reviled across Europe. They will do what they want, and if City have to take our chances in a legal court case so be it, at least UEFA will have shown the rest of football that they are serious about cleaning up the game. That's how I think they will play it. But of course Sheikh Mansour will not accept this. He'll respond on a number of levels. FFP will be taken out, but it will take time, and at the same time City will receive a new wave of investment and as Champions no one will resist it.
We tried to play by the rules. We were as Der Spiegel admitted a profitable and self-sustaining club. The problems were in the past. If they want to re-open them, then prepare for Round 2, and this time Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and the cartel will fall.
Our enemies must think Sheikh Mansour will walk away. They thought City fans would walk away when City were relegated to the 3rd tier of English football. I can more or less guarantee that this will just mark a second round of rebuilding and we'll see where that leaves us.
Maybe, just maybe, the cartel actually WANT City to take this to court and blow FFP out of the water. Seems to me that FFP in its present format will do more harm in the future to the cartel than it will do to City, and by provoking us into court they can slay the monster that they've created, blaming City for its collapse, whilst celebrating in board rooms all over Europe.
Either way, City are painted as the devil incarnate, whilst being used as a stalking horse to satisfy their own ends.
