Champions League Final | Istanbul Travel - Good to hear routes etc.

I think the wise thing to do now that all the cheap flights have gone is to wait and see what City and Sport Options offer in terms of travel packages. I've got my eye on a 3 or 4 night beach holiday with internal flights to Istanbul at a reasonable-ish price but if I can bag a 2 or 3 night trip with flights direct to Istanbul through Sport Options or whoever for £100-£200 more than the price of the package holiday and internal flights then I'll probably plump for that

I have 2 flights London Stansted to Sofia return.
Friday to Monday.
£150 plus name change if anyone is interested PM me. Just want my money back - I have another route booked.
Just out of interest, as someone doing the Sofia route- what has made you book another route?

The Sofia route is still pretty cheap- you can get flights from London still for £70 return and from Liverpool for £110. Overnight bus/train is only £25 or there are day buses also

Sound advice. Any flights currently for 3/4 days are min £700 direct from Manchester now so people may as well wait and see what comes out next few days.

Was looking at Sofia followed by overnight train but the timings didn’t work out. Luckily managed to get some reasonable flights last week. Fortunately it paid off. Those flights are no longer available and less convenient ones are twice the price.

It feels like there a a good few hotels in Istanbul available for reasonable prices? Am I missing something in terms of location etc. why they're cheap?
Combination of the supply of hotel rooms being higher than in previous host cities and the Turkish economy being in trouble. GBP/Euro/USD goes a bit further than it would.

It's cheap when you get there (ticket aside)

Me and old man got it for £157 for 3 nights in fatih with a sea view. Next step is to figure out transport from the airport into the city centre. Anyone got any idea?
