Champions League Final | Tickets - City Official Package + UEFA Tickets | 2022 Final (pg 1033)

It makes sense to move it to the uk but I wouldn’t want it moved to London. Unfair advantage to the chavs. Their fans could turn up in large numbers giving the geographical location.

Ideally move it to Trafford. The scum could get to watch a proper team. If anything it would save that **** fergie a trip to London for his pep talk ;)

In all seriousness though, isn’t it funny we have all spent so much time pontificating on the venue that the elephant in the room has not been addressed...... the old ballot vs loyalty points debate. I assume this will be on a ballot of all ST holders possibly on the European cup scheme for 19/20????

I doubt it will be a ballot. I think it will be on points AND having been on the European Cup Scheme. I have no idea how many people were on the scheme but my gut feeling is that anyone who was (who wants to go), will get a ticket. I just sense that so many are excluded from going.
 
Firstly, there has been an all German and an all Italian final played in this country and I didn’t see anyone complaining about those games.
Secondly, I understand the COVID situation but Wembley are only allowing 22500 in for the Euros so a Champions league final won‘t be more than that and we may even end up with less tickets. Istanbul are saying 25000.
Thirdly, it’s a Champions League final. If I’m lucky enough to get a ticket, I want it to be in another country, it wouldn’t feel the same playing here.
Fourthly, Istanbul is a great city to visit.
The only issue for me is, with the COVID situation, there may be a few hoops to jump through and it may end up in some sort of bubble travel to be able to attend.

So; London would give Chelsea an unfair geographical advantage. Trafford, however, would be fine. Riiiiight. I like your thinking, even if it is a little flawed!

That's literally the whole point of the thread?

Your first 4 points are fair enough but the 'COVID situation' is the reason why people are discussing this.
 
I still don't understand why, it's appropriate, in a global pandemic,to hold a football match in Turkey when both teams and their supporters are within 200 miles of one another in England. The usual Blazers from EUAFA shouldn't be allowed to turn up in Istanbul anyway because of COVID. Ffs just use Wembley - which is pretty much a home game for us in recent years!
