Why do clubs feel the need to boo former players?

I only boo one ex-City player, and that’s for obvious reasons. As far as I know, General de Gaulle has never slagged off Chelsea.

I gave Kelechi a resounding cheer, when he came on at halftime, and it was very pleasing to hear many others doing so, too. Conversely, I didn’t hear anyone boo or slag him off.

Real Madrid are nothing special.

I think we all say this most seasons and yet they still manage to win the tournament most years.

They are incredible. Maybe they don't look that way tonight but they are masters of being able to stay in games.
