VAR can disallow a goal if a player is deemed to have intentionally played the ball with their arm/hand in the build up.and you don't apparently, Trent didn't score so VAR can't intervene in disallowing. It only gets disallowed if the scorer handballs it
The handball rule you are referring to only applies to unintentional handballs.
VAR didn’t check the TAA incident because it was apparently “too far back for VAR to review”.
That’s even though it was two passes before the ball was in the net, the attack only happened because the ball bounced in the exact opposite direction of the way the Leeds player played it (and they would have been in 30 yards of space if TAA hadn’t stuck out his arm), falling directly to a Liverpool player, and TAA was able to provide the assist because of the clear advantage gained by intentionally playing the ball with his elbow.
