Champions League Group Stage

Gladbach are far from a weak side, they're arguably the strongest side that were in pot 3.

Celtic are shite but they'll kick the shit out of us at their place and they'll be right on top of us.

Barca are Barca.

This whole draw process needs knocking on the head.
It's not remotely exciting, it's dreadful. I understand the need to 'big it up' etc, but just dragging it out isn't cutting the mustard.

Have a random draw to press a button - and each bottom sets off some fireworks that spell out the name of the club.
Have a stripper.
Have anything but that tedious and sycophantic rubbish.

Here is a view of the average co-efficient rankings for each group....

Group A - average rank 26 - difference between top ranked team and bottom 61 places
Group B - average rank 26.5 - difference between top ranked team and bottom 48 places
Group C - average rank 25.75 - difference between top ranked team and bottom 33 places
(Our group - contains ranking 3, 13, 41 and 46 - all four teams almost ranked better than 2nd highest of Leicesters group, which only included the 12th ranked team)
Group D - average rank 47.25 - difference between top ranked team and bottom 145 places
(Contains 2nd, 4th and 36th - technicaly tougher than our group until you include Rostov ranked 147th)
Group E - average rank 32.75 - difference between top ranked team and bottom 33 places
(highest ranked team 15th, lowest 48th - joint tighest group based on rankings as it's same difference between top ranked and bottom as Group C)
Group F - average rank 35.75 - difference between top ranked team and bottom 83 places
Group G - average rank 59.25 - difference between top ranked team and bottom 87 places
(Group G = Leicesters group - contains ranking 12, 45, 81 and 99)
Group H - average rank 31.75 - difference between top ranked team and bottom 74 places

So based on UEFA rankings alone, we indeed do 'ave the toughest group....

Let's refer to our group as the "Group of warmed balls" ;)

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

This ball seemed a bit too hot for Ian Rush

Hope we get barca at home last with both already through after a draw at nou camp. Winner takes top spot. Would be a great game and atmosphere
Hope we have them at home last with a 4 point lead so we can take the piss out of the cunts.

Told the wife its Celtic. She not going.Last time we played them their fans pissed on us from the top of the stand as we left the Shelbourne ground in 93 so shes not keen.

Heard some shocking stories about that game with Celtic fans taking liberties all over and with it being in Ireland it gave them a ridiculous advantage numbers wise.

Was up at Parkhead for our friendly there in 2008 and it wasn't too bad. Then again, I was in a mini-bus from Leve with a fair few Irish descent blues so we got a decent welcome in the Celtic pub we went in.
