It won't be Kolorov - he's too versatile. Pellers likes using him for width and crosses in midfield when we either need a goal, or need to sure up our defense, and he will provide real competition for Clichy who can go missing.

I'd probably say Lampard (long term effect of dropping a player from the biggest competition will leave with him in the summer). Imagine how damaging this could be to the squad if he picks someone who has been here for years, and drops them for a loan player!

It's got to be an non HG player.

*sigh* If we drop Lampard then we have to swap Wright (HG) and Caballero (not HG) around to free up a non home grown spot in the squad. Can't see that happening and Joe probably needs the competition more than Clichy does right now.

It can’t be Lampard it has to be 1 of the 16 foreign players. Unless you dropped Cabalerro and Lamaprd for Bony and Wright therefore maintaining the right mix of foreign and HG players!

You have no sense of theatre, George.

I'd go with an arm wrestle.

Hardly likely they'll go with that, Micah would still be here in that case.

Yes leave out our best/most influential player we have for the biggest games we have had to date, makes sense.
CL games with Yaya. P4 W0 D2 L2.
CL games without Yaya P2 W2 D0 L0.

Hardly our best/most influential player. He just doesn't suit the CL.

you can see Prestwich Blues' point, but i dont think it's going to happen. Kolarov vs Dzeko. I'd go Dzeko out, could be either for reasons posted throughout.

I agree.......and not because I love or hate Dzeko......it just comes down to the fact...Jovetic, Aguero, Bony and Dzeko would be a bit of an overkill for the CL squad....Aguero and Bony without question and Jovetic can play a number of positions across the front line so can fill a number of needs...I think one striker needs to go from our CL squad so it has to come down to Jovetic or Dzeko......

I'd probably do that then, chances are Hart will be able to play every game, Caballero seems like a pointless addition to the squad so I don't think it makes too much of a difference swapping him for Wright.

Either way, I don't think we have any chance of winning the competition!

Re: Champions League Squad

It has to be Jovetic or Dzeko

We could drop Caballero and use Wright or Gunn as our backup keeper.
We could drop Sagna or Kolarov and rely on makeshift replacements.
We could drop Navas and promote Barker.

Or we could do the sensible thing and change a striker like for like.
