Thanks WYO, there is a bit more info slipping out about the deal, but it basically seems as the new owners are buying the club for £60 million, with £20 mil going to Lai & £40 mil paying off the debt.
These numbers are actually astonishing as it shows just what an appalling businessman Lai turned out to be. He reported paid close to £200 million for the club & is getting £20 mil for it now, having lost £160mil on the deal, whilst also running up £40 mil in debts.
Without new owners, we will have gone bust before the end of this current season.
Just got my fingers crossed that the new owners will be better than Lai, that we can ultimately keep hold of Carlos Corberan, who seems to be a decent manager & just be competitive in the championship.

Reading your failures by Lai sounds like a certain someone who couldn't run a bath in North Sheffield.

Wouldn't be surprised if we are in the same boat, and admin as a minimum in the near future seems a given.

Corberan is a good manager, I think if you can cement your place in the PO's you might be slightly under the radar, as all the talk will be on Leeds/Saints/Ipswich depending on which 2 don't get autos.

Think you are correct about the clubs getting promoted this year, we are nowhere near as good as those teams & even if we manage to stay in the top 6, we will only blow it in the playoffs, we are just not good enough.
Still, it’s encouraging news about the takeover & at the moment, a huge relief.
Best ex City players I saw playing for us were Peter Barnes & Steve MacKenzie. Both were excellent.
Yes, agree that the 3 relegated teams will get promoted, although think WBA will get a play-off place and then, who knows ?
Did you see Gary Owen play for West Brom ?
He was a big favourite at City, coming through the youth team...

I did indeed see Gary Owen & Steve MacKenzie play for us, they were both well liked at West Brom.

I'm going to make a bold prediction that West Brom will be promoted next year through automatics.

Everyone is too busy focusing on the Top 3 & Ipswich's success, but West Brom have been winning games under the radar. Carlos Corberan looks like a great manager. I read about his tenure at Huddersfield and it all makes sense now.

Its always good to have another Midlands team in the Premier League haha.

Think West Bromwich Albion are a smashing club.
Your fans are loyal supporters with a warm welcome the 6 times I've visited The Hawthorns.
Had a fair few Mancunian ex-players : Tony "Bomber" Brown, Len Cantello, Remi Moses.
Hope this takeover works, as there are some really shite owners (appreciate the Owl's fans opinions as the Championship news is difficult to find).
Looks as if the 3 relegated teams from last year's Premier League will get promoted.
That would be a big shame, as it is always good to see a "small club" get to the Prem...
Fuck em!!!

@Quilted I presume the natives are restless, despite you steamrolling the league this season I get the impression some of the fan base aren't happy with the style of football at times?

Us & QPR have made it interesting at the bottom after both winning away today.
