saw this advertised last night at the cinema, looks quality. is it based on a true story?

Changeling is a 2008 American period thriller directed by Clint Eastwood. The film is set in late 1920s Los Angeles and is based on the true story of a woman who recognizes that the boy returned to her after a kidnapping is not her son

Watched it last night very good film and being a true story made it all the better, apparently a lot of the dialogue is lifted straight from original transcripts
