Charles de Ketelaere

It’s funny to see the words “not at our level!”

If that’s the hurdle, then every new player is going to cost us £100M+ and another £20M/yr in wages!!

My words on him during the game:

“That De K…upfront for them looks business!!”

Didn’t see anything that changed that throughout the game.

At the right price, he could be an exceptional pick up for the next decade.
Even if he is our level we can’t keep buying every promising player. We plan on buying a main striker next summer then we already have delap, ferran and Jesus

If we get Haaland every one else is an also ran. That’s a big IF!

Delap has played ONCE, Jesus has clearly been shifted wide to get him involved more, and while Torres is one of the most natural goal scorers in the squad (along with Foden) now Sergio has gone, I dint think anyone sees him as a long term striker solution, do they?!

Against that backdrop, I’m not sure sniffing at a 20 yr old raw talent, who is already Belgian international leading the line in a top team in Belgium, is a smart thing. Let’s not be too raggy!!

I can’t believe some people are seriously saying that a center forward for the team that is currently 2nd in the Belgian (I repeat, BELGIAN league) and has four goals in thirteen games in that league this season, and four UCL games and zero goals, should be considered for us. Last year in 32 games in the Belgian league, he scored three goals. These are not good numbers no matter how you spin them

I don’t get what you are trying to say
What is your point?

Our level doesn't need to be 100m, Torres was £20m and he's different league to this kid. He scored 4 in 38 last season. Nmecha got 17 I think in a team which wasn't as good in the same league.

Belgium International doesn't make him good enough for us, Michy Batshuayi and Benteke get games ahead of him!

Thought he was shite in the first game, admittedly looked a lot better last night though, showed some nice touches and seems to have a good football brain, but, like others have said, his goal count is a worry, the “Belgian Patrick Bamford” sums it up quite well for me.

Never crossed my mind that he's a player our level and I don't think he would even cut it in teams around midtable. The person who commented exactly that is spot on. He's a good prospect, but well below the list of prospects that would make a revelation breakout season like Antony, Fati, Haaland, Rodrygo.

We had Kelechi Iheanacho, a FIFA Golden Boy nominee, and even with what he brought to the team (goals, workrate, assist and pace) we sold him (for a good amount of money of course).

Some of us have got a bit to big for our boots! He gave Stones and Laporte a tough time andwas nominated for the young ballon d'or award. Strong, good control and puts himself about. Hopefully our scouts are watching him, if they don't think he is up to it so be it.

Would you take him (for a lot of money) ahead of Cole Palmer? I'm not sure I would

Jeepers, he scored like 4 goals in 30+ games in Belgium last year and the star, Dennis, ended up at Watford. Nowhere near our level.
