I just drove for 6 hrs in a blizzard, makes it sound more appealingIME among the higher echelons of the business community and other movers and shakers - yes. A mate of mine who is originally from India moved there a couple of years ago. He has a decent job in fintech and has a nice enough life, but only because of the expat community he lives within. He knows he’ll have to move away to really advance his career and he’ll never truly fit in there.

Atlanta's got loads of culture. Mobile, AL is pretty deep down there but it does too. Charleston is beautiful. Nashville is lots of fun. There are plenty of high quality university towns in the south too.
Charlotte is just . . . ugh.

Very churchy culture. Lots of young affluent people. Hot and humid as fuck in the summer. If you have money, you can have a nice lifestyle.

There’s full and lifeless places all over (though there do seem to be more in the south). There’s culture and personality down there, but as I mentioned, it’s of a very particular kind and if you don’t fit in, or kowtow to it, it’s a tough place to live.

I liked Savannah, hate Atlanta and apart from the USS Alabama, Mobile sucks. My Dad is from Bama and I've been there several times, fucking hate it!Atlanta's got loads of culture. Mobile, AL is pretty deep down there but it does too. Charleston is beautiful. Nashville is lots of fun.

I forgot Savannah. I like Mobile! Birmingham is iffy though.
There's a lot about Atlanta I don't care for (worst traffic in America, hotter than hell in summer) but there are parts that are really nice and some great restaurants and good performing arts. Springtime in Atlanta is lovely.
Where in ID are you again? Not Boise, right? Idaho is great -- think I mentioned before I spent a lot of time there as a boy.
