Haggling about a fiver I agree is just daft.

But anyone asking where the seat is seems a fair enough question to me, if you're bad on your feet or any other illness which makes it a bit difficult to walk up the stairs to the gods, you'd want to know prior if that ticket was up there.

That said, on a wider issue, I think it’s reached the point where it’s only worth dealing with people who you know pretty well.
