Cheap Trains Withdrawn already Sun 14th April.

Just an update on my previous post:

We still haven't managed to open the additional services for reservations (still waiting for Network Rail to work their "magic"). However, off-peak walk-up tickets can be used on these additional services, and as the relief services are operating completely "de-classified", standard class tickets can be used in First Class coaches G, H, J and K.

Another additional Manchester - Euston service has just been requested at 1055 (again calling at Stockport and Macc and Standard Class Only),estimated arrival time 13.10, so there's now even more capacity available pre-match.

I'll post updates when (or if) we recieve confirmed timings and when reservations open.

I'll also let you know our plans around the final once City win the semi !!!!

What would the situation be if you had an advance ticket and you missed your train due to ET/Pens? Would they let you on one of those relief trains? I'm booked on the 8:35 so should be fine but just for others info really.

Officially you will be charged the standard fare as your advance ticket is only valid on that booked train.

Cheap tickets withdrawal is a cunts trick by the train operators.

I work for one that's notts county asked to run a special to our cup replay game. They asked a ridiculous amount to run it. So the club told them to do one. We then received an email telling us that groupsave tickets as well as advanced were to be withdrawn from trains going up to manc.

If we've bought open returns are we best just to try to get on as early a train as possible.

Is there a chance we might not get on the first three before 8.27?

Cheers

we had to book the 10.30 as we could'nt get on the others, that might be your best option, it gets to london for 1 p.m leaving plenty of time to get to wembley

Cheers, Id imagine theyll be plenty stood up with the open returns. Ive had to stand up a few times on a Sunday night on the way back from London.

Just panicking theyll be too busy for even that. Hopefully Staffsblue will clear it up as hes a train genius :)

Hope these trains will stop at Stockport and not flirt past if full.
We have bought off peak returns for Sunday.

Have a look at prices from places like Wigan and Warrington
For the 2011 cup final I went from Warrington Bank Quay only took 1hr 55 mins and it cost about £50.00

Get one from Watford, 20 minutes, it's only a tenner

5 of us (4 adults and 1 child) are driving to Watford and it has cost £23.00 all in for a group booking return to Wembley Central. Car Park is £4.70 and can be pre booked on Londonmidlandparking.com. Total travel costs with diesel about £75.00 between us. Bargain, but means a dry day for me!!!

if you get there early enough u may get a seat in first class, if its hammered they usually de-commission it and offer anyone who bought a first class ticket a full refund, this has happened on numerous occassions when i've travelled with them, its worth a shot, or better still if u happen to know anyone who is a member of the aslef union get their membership card of them and the guard usually lets u travel first class aswell, i have done this before, just make sure u ask him before u board
