Chelsea(A) - Post Match Thread

Most complete performance I've ever seen from us.

To do that to Chelsea on their patch with 3 very important first 11 players missing is out of this fucking world.

Thought Pep was brave with his team selection , they say fortune favours the brave but there was no fortune in this result we absolutely battered the Chavs played them off the park for 95 minutes , Conte is the proclaimed master tactician and he got a lesson of Pep today . Early days but that was a performance of champions today , we were missing three big players in Vinny,Kun and Mendy and it was business as usual . Delph was immense again Pep obviously has seen something in him , he's a decent player with a great atitude , so many good perforamcnes hard to pick a MofM , Stones was rock solid , Otto wasnt diving in , Walker was just Walker solid , Ederson deals with anything and everything with no qualms , Sterling and Sane were hunting their full backs down and causing havoc every time they had the ball , Merlin & KDB ran the midfield and Jesus worked his socks off and finally Dinho didnt give their midfield an inch , when Hazard disappeared at 70 minutes it was job done.
Maybe we got carried away with last seasons start , but this is different Pep's learned from last season and has got the players he wanted , we are not going away quietly this time.

Just a special note for Ederson, who continues to make the right decisions, and execute them aggressively, but it should be noted that while we expect keepers to have good reflexes, he is also a tremendous athlete in terms of his pace, strength and vertical jumps. I haven't felt this confident in a City keeper since . . . well, ever, I guess.

That said, it should be noted that Chelsea's free kicks were piss poor today. I thought for sure Willian would pull one out of his rear end.

Agree abou Dinho, many thought he was past it after last season but this season he's been absolutely world class. Pep has the players he wants now and it's just beautiful to see the way we choke teams in to sumbmission.
Fernandinho just needed the correct system and players around him to shine, it's just a pity we didn't get both him & Guardiola straight after Mancini...

Great performance today, but motd tonight will be poor chelski played European game Wednesday night then tea time Saturday, just like dipper game was all about mane sending off, no mention of city playing in Europe on a Wednesday then Saturday 3pm away against Watford, we will get no credit

Today I am convinced that kdb is the captain we've been missing.
I love silva but kdb is possessed right now with fantastic leadership qualities.

I can't find the correct words. Going to the bridge is right up there with the toughest away game of the season and we were just fucking sublime from start to finish and from keeper to striker. I am almost speechless and my missus thinks I've had a stroke coz I can't wipe this smile off my fat Face!!!! :-)

Motd will edit it and make Chelsea look like the better team.

No need to tell you where this came from :)

"No one has really tested City's defence yet. The one team who could got their most potent attacker sent off, and Chelsea lost Morata early today.
I agree they are a good team, but Guardiola has been incredibly lucky so far.

I was one of the first to think that Guardiola's arrival will change things, but I genuinely don't think this City side is all that good. They attack with width and numbers, and were luring Chelsea out before exploiting spaces. They have very few players who can win the ball back without fouling, and they leave huge spaces behind when they attack. I am sure Mourinho will have a plan to stop them, and we will get the space behind their full backs on the counter. I am confident we can beat City.

It's matching the flukey wins against Liverpool and Chelsea that is going to be a problem. Mourinho needs to be at his best.

Dont suppose there are ant lurking rags on here tonight but if you are - that post smacks of desperation Bwahahahahahaahaha
Obviously that post was from an inmate at Broadmoor? :-)

For me, that's the most complete Guardiola performance we've given. That's the football, the performance, and the result I was hoping for when he was announced.
