Chelsea (H) Post Match Thread

After that game yesterday, I had a feeling inside me that was a bit different to what I had felt after other victories this season. Usually I am pumped up and my insides feel like those indigestion adverts, a burning fire of adrenelin and passion. The feeling I had yesterday was more like the warm glow from the old Ready Brek adverts. A quiet satisfaction, watching Chelsea just, to all intents and purposes, give up because they knew they couldn't even keep the ball. I know it isn't over yet, but for me that game felt like it was the final whistle of our domestic season.

I was at the game and couldn't believe I was watching Chelsea, the current champions of England, just content to sit back and not compete. It was a what the fuck moment. I saw Cardiff do it but Chelsea?? Incredible and shows the fear we instill in managers and teams.

that's what i think as well mate, apart from liverpool and maybe spurs all other teams have damage limitation as their modus operandi, tragic that a champion comes and play like that. when on the odd occasion they countered it was only half hearted and we got the ball back easily

Thanks - but apparently not. Teams can turn it off and on against us at will. If we score they can suddenly up their levels and get at us. Neville seems to be setting the agenda.
Fabregas played well today and unlike him didn't down tools- tried everything but we just had all the answers. Gone are the days when Hazard turns up and is given the freedom of the park.
Neville’s bitterness is now palpable. He gave us praise when he thought we were a flash in the pan and he was starting out as a pundit and wished to seem fair minded. He’s not and he can’t hide it now the realisation has set in that we are here to stay and that our brand of football is on another planet. Last week Chelsea dominated Utd for an hour and then switched off - it was a great display from Utd apparently this week they can’t get the ball. It’s cos they weren’t trying. Course it was.

Is it any wonder a lot the rags as a fan base are so deluded, listening to decades of the pissy swill this begrudging fuck nut serves up week on week, the master of delusion himself, I can’t wait to hear him choke on his own words when we beat them in a few weeks. 20 odd minutes in today and Chelsea still hadn’t seen much of the ball, and he quips “you don’t get points for passing” we don’t need points for passing, we’re 18 points clear of you’re beloved and much hyped manure, he really is a self agrandizing twat for himself and the rags, and a very very bitter one at that, 32 mins in he’s apologizing to Henry that he’s “sorry there’s been nothing to talk about so far” ok Martin, we’ve only given one of the best teams in the league over the last 15 years a lesson today in how to play football and given them a severe run around. Tyler is a bitter delusional master of begrudgery. The man boils my blood, sickening that he gets the big games even when the rags aren’t playing he still can’t see it or commentate in a non biased fashion.
I never used to mind him, used to think he just sided with the home teams and was respectful of the home fans around him in not getting excited when the away teams scored.

As he’s got older he seems to long for the old Sky Four days with Andy Gray beside him on those Grand Slam Sundays where the rest of the league was forgotten about whilst the Rags, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea played each other. Four places in the CL for the Prem, a team each from the two big Northern footy towns and two teams from London. I think they loved that set up and a lot of people at that organisation have got their backs up about what’s happened in the last eight years in particular. Now with us taking the piss they’re gutted.

Tyler is very bitter. You can hear it in his tone and what he says. He needs to retire soon, some fresh voices and comments are needed now.

We give the ball away far too much, against Barca/real/Bayern I can see us getting punished. Walker is one of my favourite players but he gives the ball away a lot.
Fucking brilliant. Hahahaha. I bet you caught a load with that.

It's not the observation, its the fact it's the first and only thing out of you post match, a game we have won so convincingly it's untrue smashing passing records on the way.

You bring it all on yourself because you gush about Liverpool and every poster on here can see it yet us and its a negative you can come up with from a dominant and professional performance like that.

18 points clear, breaking every record ever made yet we give the ball away too much?

Give over ffs.
He's as much a blue as you are a pair of scissors.

Couldn’t see the game but from the radio commentary Gundogan’s name came up quite a lot, certainly more than against Arsenal, and hopefully he can make a contribution at DFM. Howevever maybe it wasn’t much of a test as Chelsea were so negative,

We are blessed with some great players and thank you Pep for moulding these into a great team, probably the best City team ever. Just two requests. Sort out your cold and come to an agreement with the FA re the ribbon.

And why shouldn't they 'go for it'? It's not like they had anything to lose regarding the league. And this notion that 1 nowt is better than 4 nowt is ridiculous.

Another great performance and once again evidence of how unique Pep is as a manager as with his formations it constantly appears like we have an extra two players on the pitch.

Hats off to the players also. They looked a little jaded at times but there work closing down the opposition was exemplary and speaks volumes for their commitment, determination and togetherness to work for each other.

Great performance, great week.
