Chelsea (H) | Post-Match Thread

All those calling Aguero a ****, a bellend, a dickhead, a twat and other assorted profanities because he missed a penalty in a nothing game can all go and fuck off.

Fuck em. Absolute fannies the lot of em. He's a fucking legend. Gave us all one of the greatest moments of our lives. First title in a very long time and got the wheels moving for a truckload more trophies.

Understand 100% people backing Pep, but that's now three times in the last few weeks he has went with a strange selection and got beat and the common theme with those teams are Mendy and Torres. Both not only add little to the team but actually hinder the team and whatever about torres but Mendys time at City is surely over now. As for Augeros peno it was totally unprofessional and self indulgent and he should of been taken off after such an effort.

He didn't get it wrong though IMO. He got it spot on. We will almost certainly win the league and have opportunities to rest players while keeping them match sharp for the CL final.

but your banking on others to beat united when it is still in your own hands

Pep might be a lot of things but arrogant isn't one of them.
It's getting nearly as tedious reading that than the other nonsense cliché that he's over thinking.
He put out a team which was more than capable of winning the game and should have been over by half time.
He's earnt the right to tinker, the league is won and although getting beat is never fun, it'll mean fuck all when we lift the trophy.
It is getting tedious because most of the flappers can't see the wood for the trees.

the fact he played a system with 4 forwards and one holding midfield player was not pep
also i feel he could have given a couple of youth players a run out

But in this case, it wasn't a story. It's plain ole fact..... Unless you have a different recollection?
You're using 8 points in 6 games, with a head to head game, as a warning for 7 points in 3 games with no head to head. If United only needed one win from three that season Aguero scoring in the final minute would have meant nothing.

Question: ManUre win their next three games. What team do we put out against Newcastle, & what formation do we employ?

you sir are on the same page as me

stop banking on united getting beat and play the 11 that wins the title on merit

It's not so much the miss - it's because he attempted a Panenka - not the best goal scoring penalty effort - and given that we would have won the title with a win - and given that the Panenka is seen as an insult to the opposing keeper/side - all told - I'm not happy that he attempted this.

Mendy is a very good keeper - and Chelsea are a good side. The game is in the balance. Take the best shot at goal you can. Not a stupid Panenka - unless you're somehow certain that Mendy will dive one way or the other.

That said - Aguero is one of our very best players all time - and is certainly one of my favorites - and has been loyal to our side throughout. I dislike his choice of penalty attempts - but I'm not going to cuss him because of this.

it should not be this close and its should be over by now ? city are 15 to 20 points better than united
but we are making it a good finish

Not really. We're managing our squad with our eye on a very important game and keeping everyone fit and match sharp.

Have I imagined it or did Sergio once score a panenka in a league cup penalty shootout once. Think it was Wolves.
