Stones not fit enough to be dm.
The myth that Stones can be a good DM will be busted soon enough if he manages to stay fit. First, a DM is supposed to run more and work harder than a CB. Normally, a CB runs 8-9 km per game, Rodri covered about 12km... Second, a DM in a Pep team should be able to complete at least 60-70 passes. The latter may look easy, but in reality it is hard. Stones had a great game in Instanbul, but he completed only 34 passes in the final. Being able to receive and progress the ball under pressure is an underappreciated quality. It requires mobility, intelligence, awareness, strength, etc. Kova has some of those qualities but not the whole package. Stones or Akanji are not likely to do better, especially in the build-up. A solid build-up play is the foundation of defence and control in a Pep system. We have to sign a DM.
