Chelsea Post Match

Absolutely ecstatic with a point considering the circumstances.

Zaba should know better, first one was questionable but you could tell Dean was itching to send someone off and that second yellow was just daft.
?
But the point is that Zab's tackle was nowhere near a yellow, the ref allowed Costa to put pressure on him. On top of that his first yellow was debatable.
What planet are you on?

I'm on planet you should know better than to go through the back of an opponent when you are on a yellow card ffs. Like I said, first yellow was not a card IMO but once you are on that yellow (deserved or not) you need to be careful. Zab wasnt.

Do I still love the lad? Of course I fucking do.

We were superb, operating at a very high level both in terms of concentration and intensity.

Pellegrini got it spot on, one team came not to lose.

Thought Milner was superb and has earned the right for a prolonged starting place in the team.

As for Mangala and Kompany, absolute in awe.

Saw everything I needed today, we will be more than okay.

The five points we dropped last season at home have already been coughed.

I don't expect to see anyone else of sufficient quality to get any more.

Well done lads!

Chelsea played Mike Dean brilliantly. Dean is usually good, one of the better refs but he got played today by a team that went down at every turn - and exaggerated any contact to draw a card. They clearly hoped a red would come and seized their chance when it did. For all the media hype it was the same old Chelsea very solid and very defensive. Not sure they have enough to win the league.

I can't see many teams beating them though

We have played three home games and now need to win 16/16 to have the same record as last year. We can't afford anymore Stoke games, yet I have a feeling we are going to be facing that every week.

I think our away record could end up better than ever this season though as teams at home really can't play like that.

We need a run of wins now. The next two games are tricky but we must win them.

There is a catch. You can't park the bus and put away lower teams. When they have gone forward against lesser teams, they have looked vulnerable at the back. I can see a few defeats away from home like Stoke, Villa and Palace last year. Where they struggle to break down the opposition and themselves get caught by a sucker punch.

I don't think they are that much better than last year. Personally, I think the jury is still out on Costa. All we've really seen so far is close range goals against mostly lesser teams. And yes they won at Goodison but so too did Palace today. And Chelsea were gifted 2 offside goals in the first 5 mins in that game.

Problem is they don't need to be that much better as they really should have won the title themselves last season. They completely fucked up against Sunderland at home when a win would have put it in their hands.

We were a bit fortunate last season and to be sure of winning it again, I think we will need to get 4/5 more points this season. We have to go on a good run now. Hard games over for a while. Promising signs in last 2 league games. Much better than both Arsenal and Chelsea.

our corners, as usual shocking............too long in the air with no pace on them, its too easy to defend.................we also dont have the direct, fast paced dribbler that frightens the hell out of defenders (di maria, hazard, robben, ribery) also was a bit annoyed with zabba, love him to bits but you could see Dean was looking to send one of us today, stop giving him the excuse, you gotta be cuter when on a yellow zabb..........for all our possession did we really look like scoring???

i must have dreamed the aguero attempt the two pen claims lampards goal and lampards near goal chance at the end

Was watching on my phone at a family dinner but we seemed so intense, and the hunger to get the ball back in Chelsea's half was impressive. Yaya was much improved and Milner was everywhere. Can't see Chelsea keeping up with us unless they stay injury-free and we don't.

Fuck off rag or are you a clarkie or Owen (likes horsies)

2 pen claims are just us having the ball in their box and them being clumsy, i thought you'd realise i was in about when we dominant in first half, if you think we created enough good chances in a game we needed to win, well, you watched a different game..........................how many saves did courtois have to make?, we had a lot of 'nothing' possession but with Chelsea have pretty much 8 deep players it was too easy for em

The most important thing when you play your closest rivals this early in the season is just not to lose so I would have taken a point before the game.

But to take a point after being stitched up by the ref (again) almost feels like a win. And to play with such dominance and tempo makes me think we can go on and win this league comfortably
Comfortably ?!!! No, Chelsea will be there, or there abouts, and for me, are the team to beat, plenty of depth, City need to get into the ruthless groove they were in tail end of last season, and be there when Chelsea have a dip
