Chelsea thread 2018/19

You can see why Pep wanted Jorginho, think we could have gone up yet another level with him at the base of our midfield.
 
I did not have us down to being joint top of the table with zero games lost after 8 games. We have looked shaky defensively, but we aren't leaving wide open gaps like we were at the start of the season, so that is a plus.

Going forward, we seem overly reliant on Hazard for creativity. Jorginho is absolutely elite at what he does, but we need more from Willain and Kovacic. If we can get Willian to not completely terrible every time he steps onto the pitch, and Kovacic to chip in with at least 10 goals this season plus land an actual top goal scorer in January, I could start believing we have an actual shot at the title (obviously provided we are within touching distance in January).

There are some obvious holes elsewhere too (Azpi is a concern and potentially needs to be replaced, David Luiz too etc), but the football we are playing this season is incredible. I get so excited for every weekend. I'd be completely satisfied with just securing top 4 whilst watching Sarriball every week, and then plug the gaping holes in January and next summer before mounting a serious title challenge next season.

Which strikers have Chelsea been linked with? I cannot believe Chelsea went into a season with just Morata and Giroud, neither are good enough to lead the line for a team looking to win the league

None really. There are whispers surrounding Icardi, but he could cost 100m (I would pay that btw but I'm pretty sure Chelsea won't).

I've heard some things about some Polish fella who is banging them in for fun in Italy.

The Aguerrooooooo season was an outlier. Can you name any other season since the turn of the century where the title was decided on GD?
