Just saw this article in the NYT and was properly shocked that this is both legal and going on in large numbers in the US.

250,000 in the 10 years, including 11 year olds marrying grown men and the lawmakers said that most are "consensual" so its fine.

Insanity. Can't believe this is legal.

The religious links to this story are there for all to see. Fundamentalism exists everywhere. One type doesn't want to leave the 14th century and one wants to go back there, as quickly as possible!
