Chinese Consortium invests $400m in CFG

I wonder if we'll fuck Nike off and bring in someone like Li Ling. The Nike deal is bobbins, I doubt it would cost much to get out of it.
Well accordong to some gairly reliable sources, Nike will be paying most of Messi's earnings when he comes to us. So perhaps that isn't too good an idea. - If we want Messi as well as Pep.

Will be piss funny if we re-negotiate the Nike deal to somewhere more in line with United's mega money Adidas deal, given that one of the few remaining straws some of the Rags are clutching at is scoffing at our current deal with Nike.

It's been piss funny watching them parade the Biggest Shirt Sponsorship Cup, this last year or so. So let them scoff away, if that's all that bothers them.
Then remind them that they could get 1000 more such deals and still be nowhere near the money behind us.

On a more serious note, if there's one thing this deal should do, it is allow us to stop seeing all of our commercial enterprise through the prism of Manchester United's dealings.
Comparing willies is for little boys.

Our deal with Nike is a relative pittance, and their refusal to renegotiate it upwards has been a continued source of annoyance to Soriano. Think they've changed their tune now, largely on the back of the China deal, but wouldn't be surprised to see us go with a new manufacturer.

Either way I think it's fair to assume we'll be getting considerably more in future.

Karl Lagerfeld, I reckon

Just Google it and we signed the deal in 2012 and it runs til 2018, that right? So we may have another 3 years to wait before we get another deal, unless nike deem it a worthy investment to up it now and extend the deal?

I'd love it if we went with Adidas

We're only half way through the Nike deal but the value of kit deals tends to correlate to the quantity of merchandise sold and the fact is that we're not yet at the level of the rags or Liverpool in that regard. Obviously signing someone like Messi changes the equation considerably.

I'd rather go with Umbro but I doubt they could afford what we'll be looking for on our next deal.
Umbro were part of Nike until they sold them to a brand marketing group called Iconix in 2012. They're making a bit of a comeback however and now make West Ham's kit. In the same way that Warrior overpaid for the Liverpool kit to get a foothold in the market, maybe we could do a similar deal with Umbro, who would be delighted to get a prestigious name like us on their roster.
