Went to the chippy next to Mary D's last night for a cheeky chish and fips before the match and was mightily impressed.

Chips were chunky and crispy but also light and fluffy inside. Fish has a crispy batter with large cunks of moist f Cod inside. A very respectable 8 out of 10. I think this must have changed hands as I remember it being very average when in its previous incarnation as the blue moon chippy.

Anyhow, this brings me to my question. Where is your favourite pre-match chippy and are there any others worth going to near the ground?

P.S - The one at Beswick precinct (think it was called Sivories or something similar) used to be fantastic but is sadly now closed.

You're the new owner aren't you ?

That Chippy is brilliant. £2.50 for generous serving of chips with peas and gravy.
Perfect tonic for a freezing night.

But do they do a meat pie floater ?

There's two chippies in Clayton , five minutes walk from the ground ... a chinese one near the derby arms and an english one on Ravensbury Street(big fish there!)

I think there's also one on that side road near the Mitchell arms going towards town too.

I had a kebab and chips from City Chippy on Derby Day May 2007. Don't know if my stomach was off that day but i kept going to the toilet throwing up and ended up missing the best bits (the pen and bally smashing it to Ronaldo) so it put me off there from then.

I now grab 4 Cheese and Onion pasties from Greggs in Town.
