Chris Kamara

Unfortunately the disease that struck down Rob Burrow is not related to only sportspersons, terrible disease.

nobody knows for sure. It cannot be coincidence that sports that involve repeated heard trauma result in neurological conditions that sports that don't err.. don't.

There needs to be way more investigation and research and the authorities in all games financial support for research is piss poor - wealthy organisations who remain wealthy coz they don't rock their own boats should not be left in charge of it but they should fund it.

I can only repeat more people involved in sports that involve head trauma have more severe outcomes than those that don't. Yes Rob Burrows situation is not unique to sportspersons but don't you think that and other neurological issues occurring more in rugby players of both codes than say badminton players or swimmers is worth more investigation than just saying well it happens to other people too?

I’m not saying it’s happening to other people too, don’t twist words. It’s a terrible disease that can strike down any one.

I think we are at the point in time where like it or not we have to consider head trauma in sports. Chris will have headed a few balls as will many others - rugby players have issues as do boxers.
We cannot continue to overlook the fact that Tim Henman is in his late 40's and ok and Rob Burrow isn't 40 and is in a wheelchair. Its awkward and would change sports we love but do we just plough on until compensation claims close sports down?
All for it. Heading a ball surely must be bad for you over time. The game would change but so what.

Now I do like Kamy but his quotes on Goals on Sunday have pissed me off, when talking to Mick McCarthy all he said to him was "What was it like playing for Manchester City always in the shadow of Manchester United?."

Now I know he's proberly uneducated, but City havn't "always" been in there shadow, from both clubs creations to the 1950's we were always the major force as we also were from the late 60's and all the way through the 70's.

I find it disrespectful how many people just disregard our history in favour of those red basterds.

Do your research Chris!.
The first time United overtook us in the all-time league table was 1983.

When McCarthy played for City, the last Manchester team to win the league title was City.

McCarthy was a leader for city & a right hard bastard on the pitch.
Always remember meeting the team in the dressing room before a game against West ham.
Mick went out of his way to make me feel comfortable, had a chat with me, he seemed an ok person.
Also remember stepping on Paul Simpsons big toe in his socks, no boots on, how embarrassing, what an idiot!
I expected him to have a right go at me ,not a word from him lol!
Think he scored that day in a 2-2 draw .

His brain scans are clear. It might be heading related and it might not.

Footballs weigh about 1/3 of what they did back then.

Banning heading changes the sport irrevocably. There isn’t the current science to determine that yet.

Weve come a long way since Jeff Astle.
It's nothing to do with the weight of the ball, it's the velocity of it.

Balls these days travel much faster so the impact is worse than the old balls of yesteryear.
