Do you

Go overboard Griswold style ......lights on the outside of the house etc

Decorate moderately .... tree and 1 or 2 things more inside

Bah Humbug ..... do fuck all and do not decorate because you hate Christmas

Passive Christmas Fan ..... Would like to decorate like when the kids were home but just cannot be bothered now its just wife/hubby and me

Minimal is what we go for. The less shit that is put up means the less shit to take down. A set of white icicle light thingies over the lower gutter, a Christmas wreath on the front door and a small tree in the front window. Job done.

No red allowed!!

If your pan lids have flown the nest then it's not really that special and so if your able to then maybe it's a good call to fuck off to foreign climes to escape the repetitive stereotypical dross that flesh is air to. (Hamlet)

Have a gud un and if I don't see you all the best to you and your family.
What you doing for xmas ? Local local and yourself ? Local.
How did Xmas go ? Quiet quiet yourself ?
What about new year what you doing ? Local local yourself ? Local.
All the best for the New Year and if I don't see you and have a gud un.
There's me hand there's me heart and all the best.
Happy New Year pal Happy New Year.Same to you pal and if you can just remove your tongue from my wife's ear it would be very much appreciated.Fact of the matter is these Crimbo types wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire for the remainder of the Lunar year. Stereotypical twaddle with the same old same old bumph and an anticlimaxual thrutch for the sake of someones birthday who we don't even know.

It's my birthday today and my inbox has remained empty and no ones put out tinsel or canopy's and nibbles. Fook em all that's what I say and I gave everything for this Moons surface. So I tell you what's what from now on I'm not going to go that extra mile and instead will just keep my head down and do my Cellar-work because it appears were all just a number and those that try hard and do there best are down the road like all the rest.I'm not maudlin or anything that folk have forgotten because I don't have narcissistic tendencies but it has to be said Jesus has been well dead now for over two thousand years and yet you all remember him eh.Is it because he's a money man and got loads of churches and Gold Frankenstein and Grr and stuff because if it is then the Beatles once said Money Cant Buy You Love.Thank you to the real Man on the Moon who did remember me on this most special of feast days fixing it for us both to go to Liverpool this coming Sunday. Und Zo in the immortal words of Tyrion of house Lanister a Lanister Always Pays His Debts and this deed of self sacrifice will nair go unnoticed by the new gods or the old.I Am Bob Of House Bob and my word is my bond !

When one of the ex wives left me it was early January and we played Sheffield Wednesday. (I went to the game) I left my tree up until about June that year. I got strangely comforted as it wilted and turned brown. I also left the Christmas lights on at the front of my house continuously for 4 months. Day and night. The neighbour asked me if I could turn them off around Easter.

I also didn’t have a front door key for 3 years after she went. Just left it open.

Are the tree and/or the keys indicative of why she left?

I hate tacky over the top decorations. Keep it simple for me. A tree and that’s it. When I was a kid my mum would hang up all the Christmas cards. I encourage people not to send a card. Money in the card, yes, empty cards no.

I get my Bah Humbug hat out to wear at any home matches around Christmas time. And that's it.
I got rid off the tree, etc, a couple of years ago to the girls, who still believe in Father Christmas - they're 36 and 32! Both their houses will be decorated. Mine won't.
I still send cards, but the list is growing smaller as I get older. I keep a list of who I send to - if I don't get one back for 2 years, they're off the list. It's getting to the stage where, apart from "special" cards, one box will generally do it these days.
As the old saying goes:
Roses are red-ish
Violets are blue-ish
If it wasn't for Christmas
We'd all be Jewish.

I just had this posted through the door. A present off the missus. I particularly like how fucked he looks compared to how fucked he looked on the day itself.

We have a tree. Cost us £25 from the All-in=One garden centre, sadly now gone, in 1978. It was the most expensive thing I had put on the credit card at the time. Every time I stick the bog brush twigs in the pre-holed trunk i think how little it has cost over the years. This year the average cost of said tree has dipped below ten shillings per annum! It was made it Canada and it's lasted and will last until we decide that Ewing Towers will have a 'virtual' Christmas tree. There must be a box somewhere that projects a tree onto yer dining room or conservatory wall!
