If you could scrap all the complete madness of it, all the festive food, all the millions spent on present giving, the songs on the radio and tv, the celebs coming on with their 'Xmas message', the cards we all send to each other saying the same as last years, all the millions spent on festive booze, the shops that transform into Santa's grotto earlier every year, the houses adorned in coloured lights and plastic angels/reindeer/fat Santa's, the obligatory tree in everyone's house (even when there are no kids) the sheer panic when you find that Tesco's have sold out of cranberry sauce and all the talk of Christmas, for weeks leading up the the festive season..................would you swap it for just a day with a family meal, like say the yanks do with thanksgiving, just a public holiday with little quiet get together ?

It's a complete load of manufactured old bollocks. A nice lazy Sunday lunch at home, films, vino, feet up etc, is much better. My Christmas is going to be on the 28th. Lie in, my only day off, day to myself, relax at home. Lovely
